Beautiful Scenery in Japan
In this blog, I will gradually introduce some of the beautiful scenery of Japan that I have photographed myself over the years.
This is a photograph of a sea of clouds illuminated by the morning sun, as seen from the top of a mountain.
To see this sea of clouds, I had been checking the weather and changes in temperature for several days. On the day itself, I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and hurried to the location so that I could arrive in time for sunrise at around 5:30 a.m.
Whether or not you can see a sea of clouds is largely a matter of luck. I drove through the city in the dark and, when I arrived at the foot of the mountain, the sky was cloudy. I was worried that I might not be able to see the sea of clouds. However, what I was looking up at from below was actually the sea of clouds itself—it simply looked like a cloudy sky from the ground. In the end, I was able to witness an incredible sea of clouds, and it became a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
There are many places throughout Japan where you can see a sea of clouds, but whether one forms depends on the season and the weather conditions on the day, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to see one.
There are also places where you can enjoy a sea of clouds from well-equipped facilities, such as Unkai Terrace. However, in many cases, you need to get to the top of a mountain early in the morning, so you may need to arrange transportation, and some locations may require trekking or mountain climbing. There are also places where no restrooms are available.
However, seeing a beautiful sea of clouds can become a memory you will cherish for the rest of your life. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend giving it a try.
